Nooo, not my babies!

This is a totally random and unfashion related post but I still wanted to write about how quickly my children are growing up.  *Sigh* Today was the twins first day in their new pre-school 1 class room and their first step toward big-boydum *sigh*.  I have to admit that although they are only two and a half and they only moved one classroom over I got a little choked up when I dropped them off this morning.  They are in a new more "structured" setting with most of the kids being older than they are and here they begin to reinforce all of the basics such as numbers, letters, shapes and colors...they even have computers in the classroom!  You may be wondering why I was so choked up because this sounds like a good thing.  And it is!  But it also means that my babies wont be babies for much longer.  I know how quickly this all flies by because I have been through it once before.  My first born, the light of my life, the apple of my eye went from this adorable, kissable, squeezable baby to this big boy (who turns 6 this month 6!!!!) who talks non-stop and 90% of what he says is "mommy, can I?"

While Eric will always be my baby, he clearly no longer is a baby.

So now I only have two babies left and if I thought the last 6 years went by fast...well the last two and a half are a complete blur.  The twins literally, in my mind, went from infants to walking talking, demanding toddlers, who, as much as I may complain, have mommy totally wrapped around their cute little fingers.

When did this happen??? *Sigh*  Now I get why people like the Duggers have so many kids (okay, maybe not that many kids) because it is kind of sad knowing this is the last time, and trust me this is my last time, you will ever have tiny, or not quite so tiny anymore, babies.  *loooong sigh*

Well, I hear my little angels and they sound like they may be getting into some trouble so I'd better go check and make sure the kitchen isn't covered in their dinner!

Welcome to the infirmary, Part 2

Well, the boys took us down with them and both my husband and I have the stomach flu now as well.  Looks like I wont be able to work on my outfit at all until tomorrow, late tonight at best.

Welcome to the infirmary

There are officially 5 days left until I attend the Venexiana show at Mercedees Benz Fashion Week and all three of my boys have a very nasty stomach bug.  I have been cleaning up after sick children since 6pm last night, I am exhausted, they are still sick, piles and piles of laundry have accumulated since last night and yet I still have an entire outfit to put together!

I started the pants but the fit was not quite right so I had to take them apart and start again but now they are coming along well.  They still need a lot of work though.  As far as the top goes the fabric hasn't been steamed, cut or even looked at since Friday...I have a lot of work to do!!!!!

Heres hoping that everyone is well by friday and that I get my look completed in time.  I will keep you posted!

Its my party and I'll kick, scream, yell and cry if I want to!

The thing about being a mother of three young children and trying to start a business is that your mind is no longer your own. There is no time for rest, even when you are sleeping. Constantly thoughts of the children, housework, day to day tasks as well as new business ideas and in this case designs are flowing 24/7. While I love the path that I am on, I sometimes miss the days where I could sit in front of the television and veg out for an hour or two, or going back 6 years or so an entire Sunday!  My point being, this is a very hard deal.  I have days where I feel on fire, like everything is going my way.  I have completed an amazing garment, the kids are behaving and the house...well, its not as messy as it could be.  However, most days don't feel like that.  Most days I feel as though I am being pulled in a million different directions and accomplishing nothing.  Moreover, to top it all off, I feel as though I am neglecting everyone and everything outside of my family and this business.  Luckily, I have really amazing friends who completely understand for the most part but I still feel pretty crappy about it.

Trying to start a fashion line...from scratch at the pace I am trying to accomplish it all in is kinda crazy.  Its like saying "Hey ya know what?  I have always wanted to own my own restaurant so I think I will buy a building and open one next year. Now let me go learn how to cook."  But anyone who knows me knows that when I put my mind to something, I mean really truely put my mind to it, there is pretty much no stopping me, no matter how crazy the idea sounds.  Therefore, I am chugging along, bad day or not toward my goal.

So as I am sure you figured from all of this venting, today is one of those not so great days.  But here's the thing, I will persevere.  I plan on riding this bitch till the wheels fall off even if I lose my ever loving mind in the process!
