The Jumpsuit

I don't think that I have ever mentioned to you all that I love a good jumpsuit.  Yes its true that many people despise them but I just cannot fathom why.  Sure they may not be the most practical things in the world (you know hard to use the little girls room in and all) but they are cute and fun and often times very sexy!

So to pay homage to my love for jumpsuits I whipped my self up one back in May and was lucky enough to have the opportunity to rock it last weekend.  Do you love it?

Fantasy Land

This weekend I attended my sisters baby shower set in a beautiful backyard garden.  It was all very girly and dreamlike with fresh flower all over and pink balloons everywhere you looked, so I thought I would dress accordingly in a purple floral bubble skirt that I made earlier in the summer.

Coney Island

Yesterday the family and I went to Coney Island, where my husband grew up.  We try to go at least once a year to walk the boardwalk, eat a Nathan's hot dog and enjoy the sights.  This time I decided to put my amateur photographer skills (which are minimal at best) to use and document some of hubby's favorite places.   I will share those photographs with you in my next post,  but first here is what I wore :-).

Once again found this lovely flowy fabric at Joann's at a steal.  Take notice that the dress can be worn two ways, one as a halter and the other as a keyhole.  LOVE IT!!

Cowgirls and Angels

Last night I think I crossed three first off of my life's to-do list.  I went to a country western themed bar, rode a mechanical bull and sang karaoke.  Anyone who knows me knows that I cannot sing a lick so I would normally apologize to all the people who had to hear that however, this time we will call it even since I had to sit through some pretty awful versions of Wild Horses and a few other songs that I didn't even recognize!

So for a night to remember I needed an outfit just as memorable.  This is what I chose:

Harem

Last night I went to Trump Bar on 5th Ave to a music showcase.  The atmosphere was posh and the music was fantastic, especially that of up and coming artist Lexi Gilmore.

For this event I decided to keep it simple and go with a white tank and a silky harem pant that I put together in early spring.

Casually chic...

Is the look I was going for at an evening dinner party at a friends.  I think I accomplished that with this purple and gray bias cut maxi-dress with thigh high slits on both sides.  I j'adore this dress not only because it is pretty but it is also super comfortable made from a light weight cotton jersey.

Independence Day

Sooo, this is what I wore for a very hot July 4th!  I thought by the evening it would have cooled down enough for me to get away with wearing long sleeves...I was wrong.  But at least I looked good! lol

This top is made of a gorgeous silk that I found at Mood a few months ago.  I thought it would make a perfect tunic, the only thing the outfit was missing was a big floppy hat!

Lazy

I have been wanting something in a turquoise blue for summer and this dress is perfect for a lazy summer day, hanging out with friends and family. It is soft and comfortable and the thigh high side slit keeps you cool on those hot days!

Tribal

Since Tribal prints are really big this season I wanted to make a few pieces with this inspiration in mind.  So over the course of my many fabric shopping trips I have acquired quite a few very nice tribal printed fabrics.  This is the first that I have actually put to use.

Love me...

Once again I stumbled upon this interesting fabric with the words 'love me' and 'xoxo' scribbled across it in where else but the red tag section of Joann's.  The first time I saw it I thought it had potential but I put it back.  The second time I saw it, a few weeks later, I knew I just had to get it and make something fun and maybe a little bit quirky with it.  This is what I came up with:

Ring The Alarm

Because this dress is fire (if I do say so myself) and what makes it even better?  This is my first completed 100% from the mind, to the sketch pad to fruition self-drafted dress that I have made (meaning I had no help from any pre-made patterns to make my design come to life)!  Yay me!!

Hope you love it as much as I do!
