Bored

I was a little bored this afternoon. I was tired from the fabulous evening I had last night and opted to spend the day at home catching up on a little R & R.  While doing so I decided to play around a little on Polyvore.   Here is what I did,  have a look and let me know what you think!

I feel so sorry for my husband because I have such expensive taste!  I blindly picked out all of these items then went back to add them up when done, just out of curiosity.  Total for both outfits, complete with accessories: $8422 YIKES!!!

I will work on some that are actually in my price range and post them eventually!

Lazy

I have been wanting something in a turquoise blue for summer and this dress is perfect for a lazy summer day, hanging out with friends and family. It is soft and comfortable and the thigh high side slit keeps you cool on those hot days!

Tribal

Since Tribal prints are really big this season I wanted to make a few pieces with this inspiration in mind.  So over the course of my many fabric shopping trips I have acquired quite a few very nice tribal printed fabrics.  This is the first that I have actually put to use.

Love me...

Once again I stumbled upon this interesting fabric with the words 'love me' and 'xoxo' scribbled across it in where else but the red tag section of Joann's.  The first time I saw it I thought it had potential but I put it back.  The second time I saw it, a few weeks later, I knew I just had to get it and make something fun and maybe a little bit quirky with it.  This is what I came up with:

Flatsland...

That is where I live these days.  I love a great pair of heels! No height is too high, no color wrong, no style off limits (except for clogs) and before I had children I truthfully didn't own one single pair of flats. Flip flops maybe but that was about the extent of it. Now as a mother of three it is just not realistic for me to wear heels when out with the boys.  So it has been my mission over the last year or so to stock my closet with some of the best looking flats I can find at a reasonable price.  I know that a lot of you out there for one reason or another may also live in Flatsland so this post is for you ladies.  Don't let your shoe game falter just because you can't wear heels like you used to!

Vanity Fair

I was walking by a newstand today and noticed the most fabulous Vanity Fair cover picture I have ever seen (and they've had some pretty great ones).  A classic shot of Miss Elizabeth Taylor looking absolutely stunning in a white one piece.  THIS is what a movie star looks like people!  Plus, not to toot my own familial horn, but I also like this particular cover so much because she looks very much like my grandmother did back then, I will have to share a picture with you all one day.

While I was flipping through pages of this very same VF I came accross one other picture I wanted to share:

The women of Eclipse,  I think this is gorgeous!  With them all dolled up like this I am not even sure who is who in this pic other than the obviously all grown up Dakota Fanning but they all look so amazing and glamorous I almost want to frame it and hang it on my wall.  Well done ladies!

Ring The Alarm

Because this dress is fire (if I do say so myself) and what makes it even better?  This is my first completed 100% from the mind, to the sketch pad to fruition self-drafted dress that I have made (meaning I had no help from any pre-made patterns to make my design come to life)!  Yay me!!

Hope you love it as much as I do!
