Book Corner

Upon my weekly cruise through amazon.com I came across  two books perfect for the fashionably challenged and fashionista's alike.   The first is Nina Garcia's Look Book: What to Wear for Every Occasion:

"Every woman, at one time or another, has contemplated an all-important job interview, first date, formal party, or important presentation and wailed to herself and to her closest girlfriends, "What should I wear?" In Nina Garcia's Look Book, style guru Nina Garcia solves this universal quandary with an inspired and unbeatable combination of fashion knowledge and common sense. She shows us the pieces, the accessories, and the strategies to create the looks that will take us from the first day on a job through the day we ask for a raise and beyond, from the first time we meet our boyfriend's parents (or his children) through the day we see our own children walk down the aisle. With Nina by your side, you can't go wrong. You'll have all the tips you will need to navigate every day looking your best. True style is not about having a closet full of expensive and beautiful things--it is instead about knowing when, where, and how to utilize your collection."

The second is Sam Saboura's Real Style: Style Secrets for Real Women with Real Bodies:

"Host of ABC's Extreme Makeover, Saboura gleans through his various tips and tricks to offer any woman the best in style for any time in her life. Though much of the content is certainly similar to that which stems from other dress-well gurus--invest in a great tailor, build a basic wardrobe, accent with accessories--Saboura delivers it in a memorable and occasionally life-altering way. Take, for instance, his rendition of body types, whether apple or pear, rectangular or willowy; included are notes about best features, a "foolproof solutions" chart listing body issues like a flat-chest area with ready-made camouflage ideas, and "Sam Says," a series of sidebars with little-known recommendations for best wears/wares--all designed to make females feel their collective bests. Along with ramping up self-esteem, Saboura provides practices around shopping ("wear a white tank to shop"), closet clean outs ("always fold your knits"), and tailoring. It's good-better-best dressing, without losing the ubiquitous 20 pounds. Barbara Jacobs

Both of these books are must haves for any woman looking to broaden her wardrobe and look her absolute best at all times.  Sam Saboura will give women real life examples of what looks best for every body type while Nina Garcia will guide you through what to wear for any occasion.  This combination cannot be beat!
